How do I resolve Samsung app permission issues?

1.  Battery Optimisation or App Sleeping

Samsung can “optimise” background activity — which will silently revoke permissions or block access.

✅ Fix:

  • Go to SettingsBattery and device careBatteryBackground usage limits
  • Add your app to “Never sleeping apps”

Also check:

  • SettingsApps → [Your App] → Battery → Set to Unrestricted

2.  Privacy Dashboard / Permission Manager Resets

Samsung (esp. on Android 12/13/14) has privacy settings that reset unused app permissions.

✅ Fix:

  • SettingsPrivacyPermission managerLocation
  • Tap your app, set to “Allow while using” or “Ask every time”
  • Then go back and disable “Remove permissions if app isn’t used” (if present)

3. Device Care or Security App Interference

Samsung’s built-in Device Care or security tools sometimes override app-level settings.

✅ Fix:

  • Go to SettingsDevice care or Security
  • Disable anything like auto-optimise, auto-clean, or permission monitor
